Septum Dental is a long-established dental practice in Şişli, Istanbul, built around the clinical work of MSc Dt. Maryo Keleşoğlu.
Keleşoğlu opened his own private practice in Şişli in 1993. His work later developed toward implant dentistry and implant-supported prosthetics, with active implant treatment forming part of his practice since 2000.
In 2015, the practice expanded into the present multidisciplinary Septum Dental structure, bringing restorative dentistry together with access to surgery, periodontology, endodontics and orthodontics.
For patients looking for a dentist in Sisli Istanbul, this history is more useful than a generic claim that a clinic offers every dental treatment under one roof.
More than 30 years of dental practice in Şişli
Septum Dental’s history is closely connected with Maryo Keleşoğlu rather than with a recently created dental-tourism brand.
He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1989.
After graduation, his professional experience included work connected with the ODONTOS orthodontic laboratory in Montreal, Canada, where he gained experience with orthodontic positioner appliances.
He subsequently established his own private dental practice in Şişli in 1993.
Implant dentistry became an increasingly important part of his work. He has been actively involved in implant surgery and implant-supported prosthetic treatment since 2000.
In 2017, he completed an MSc in Oral Implantology at Guglielmo Marconi University in Italy.
He is also a member of the Istanbul Dental Association and the Aesthetic Dentistry Academy Association.
For international patients, communication is another practical point. Keleşoğlu speaks English and Greek in addition to Turkish.
How Septum Dental developed in 2015
Septum Dental’s present form developed in 2015 after Keleşoğlu’s earlier years of individual private practice.
The clinic describes the expanded practice as approximately 400 square metres.
Rather than having one dentist attempt every specialist procedure, Septum Dental works with different areas of dentistry when a case requires them.
These include:
- oral surgery
- periodontology
- endodontics
- orthodontics
- restorative dentistry
- prosthetic dentistry
- aesthetic dentistry
This structure can be relevant when treatment involves several different problems.
For example, a patient may need an infected tooth assessed before implant treatment. Another may need periodontal care before receiving crowns. Tooth position may also need orthodontic consideration before an aesthetic plan begins.
The final treatment should therefore follow the diagnosis rather than a predetermined dental package.
The current Septum Dental team
Septum Dental currently presents four dentists as members of its main clinical team.
MSc Dt. Maryo Keleşoğlu
Maryo Keleşoğlu’s principal background combines restorative dentistry with implantology and implant-supported prosthetics.
His implant experience dates from 2000, while his later postgraduate education includes an MSc in Oral Implantology completed in Italy in 2017.
This becomes particularly relevant when a patient requires both the surgical replacement of missing teeth and the prosthetic teeth that will eventually attach to the implants.
Dt. Işın Alipaça
Işın Alipaça graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1985.
Her professional work has focused particularly on dental treatment and prosthetics.
She became part of the expanded Septum Dental structure in 2015.
For patients requiring crowns, bridges or other restorative work, her long clinical background adds another experienced dentist to the practice.
Dt. Mina Avad Wakfi
Mina Avad Wakfi graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1996.
In 1999, she completed an Aesthetic Dentistry Certificate Program at the School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia in the United States.
Her clinical interests include restorative, prosthetic and aesthetic dentistry.
She joined the Septum Dental structure in 2015.
She speaks English, French and Arabic in addition to Turkish, which can be particularly useful for international patients.
Dt. Murat Ayan
Murat Ayan graduated from Azerbaijan Medical University Faculty of Dentistry in 1998 and currently treats patients within Septum Dental.
The wider clinic structure also works with additional specialist disciplines where required.
Dentist in Sisli Istanbul for implant and prosthetic treatment
One feature of Septum Dental’s implant approach is that the clinic differentiates between different patterns of tooth loss.
A patient missing one tooth does not require the same solution as someone who has lost every tooth in a jaw.
For a single missing tooth, an implant may support an individual restoration.
When several teeth are absent, implants can support a bridge or another prosthetic solution.
For a completely edentulous jaw, Septum Dental describes planning based on the type of final prosthesis rather than automatically using the same number of implants for every patient.
Depending on the clinical situation and whether the final solution is fixed or removable, the clinic describes treatment plans involving between two and six implants.
That decision should follow examination of the individual jaw.
Immediate implants are considered only in selected cases
Septum Dental also describes immediate implant treatment for selected patients.
In an immediate protocol, implant placement can sometimes occur at the same treatment stage as extraction.
The clinic also notes that selected cases may receive a tooth shortly after implant surgery.
This should not be interpreted as a promise that every implant patient can receive immediate permanent teeth.
Bone condition, infection, implant stability and the intended restoration can all influence whether immediate treatment is appropriate.
If you are travelling to Istanbul specifically for implants, New Holidays can ask Septum Dental to clarify the expected stages before you book your return flight.
The prosthetic stage matters as much as implant placement
Septum Dental’s long involvement with implant-supported prosthetics is particularly relevant when several teeth need replacement.
An implant itself is only the part placed in the jaw.
The patient ultimately uses the crown, bridge or other prosthetic restoration attached to it.
Therefore, treatment planning needs to consider both implant placement and the final teeth.
Septum Dental provides fixed crowns and bridges, removable dentures and combined prosthetic solutions.
The appropriate option depends on the number and condition of the remaining teeth, implant support and the patient’s functional requirements.
For larger cases, New Holidays can ask the clinic to explain whether the proposed teeth will be fixed or removable before treatment begins.
Porcelain laminate veneers at Septum Dental
Aesthetic dentistry forms another part of the clinic’s current work.
Septum Dental currently provides porcelain laminate veneers for selected front teeth with concerns involving shape or colour.
The clinic describes laminate treatment as requiring only limited removal of tooth structure where clinically suitable.
After preparation, an impression is used for laboratory production of the ceramic laminates.
The clinic currently describes straightforward laminate cases as generally requiring two main clinical sessions.
However, international patients should not assume that every veneer case can follow exactly the same timetable.
The number of teeth, existing restorations, gum condition and laboratory adjustments can all affect the schedule.
Composite bonding as a direct alternative
Septum Dental also currently lists composite bonding.
Unlike laboratory-produced porcelain laminates, composite material is shaped directly on the tooth.
The clinic describes suitable bonding cases as generally being completed during one treatment session.
This may provide another option for relatively limited changes in tooth shape.
It does not mean bonding is automatically preferable to ceramic treatment.
The dentist needs to assess the size of the defect, bite, existing fillings and the result the patient expects.
This distinction is particularly important for patients who want to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
Whitening is not treated as one single procedure
Septum Dental currently offers several approaches to tooth whitening.
These include office whitening performed at the clinic and home whitening with individually prepared trays.
The clinic also provides internal whitening for selected teeth that have darkened after previous root canal treatment.
That last option is different from whitening an entire smile.
When one root-treated tooth has become noticeably darker than neighbouring teeth, treating the individual tooth may be considered instead of automatically covering it with a veneer or crown.
The dentist needs to examine the tooth first.
Orthodontics can sometimes avoid unnecessary cosmetic preparation
Septum Dental also works with orthodontic treatment.
The current clinic information includes conventional brackets, aesthetic brackets and lingual orthodontic techniques.
Orthodontics deserves consideration when the patient’s main concern is tooth position rather than damaged tooth structure.
A crowded or rotated natural tooth does not automatically need a crown or veneer.
Moving the tooth may sometimes provide a more conservative route.
This is one reason Septum Dental’s multidisciplinary structure can be useful for larger aesthetic cases.
The restorative dentist can consider whether an orthodontic opinion should form part of the treatment plan before irreversible preparation begins.
Periodontal care before implants, veneers or crowns
The clinic also works with periodontal treatment.
The gums and supporting bone need to be considered before extensive restorative or implant dentistry.
Symptoms such as bleeding gums, recession, swelling or loose teeth may indicate a periodontal problem that requires assessment.
This is particularly important when several crowns or implants are planned.
The visible ceramic restoration may be only one part of the treatment. The supporting tissues need to be stable as well.
Tell New Holidays if you have previously been diagnosed with periodontal disease or significant bone loss.
Root canal treatment should be considered before extraction
Endodontics is another discipline incorporated into the Septum Dental treatment model.
A painful or infected tooth does not automatically need extraction and replacement with an implant.
In suitable cases, root canal treatment may allow the natural tooth to remain.
The condition of the root, remaining tooth structure and surrounding bone all influence this decision.
After endodontic treatment, the dentist can decide what restoration is needed to protect the tooth.
This approach is relevant for patients who arrive expecting several implants but still have natural teeth that may be treatable.
A Şişli location rather than a remote dental-tourism complex
Septum Dental is located in Şişli on Istanbul’s European side.
The current clinic address is:
Halaskargazi Caddesi No:209
Kipman Apartmanı D:8B
Şişli
Istanbul, Turkey
Şişli is a central Istanbul district and is close to areas commonly used by international visitors, including Nişantaşı, Osmanbey and the wider Taksim area.
This can be practical when treatment requires several appointments during one stay.
New Holidays will confirm the appointment location before you travel.
What should you send before coming to Istanbul?
A useful preliminary assessment does not always require new tests.
Send New Holidays any current records you already have.
For implant or larger restorative cases, these may include:
- a recent panoramic X-ray
- a CBCT scan if already available
- clear photographs of your teeth
- information about missing teeth
- details of existing implants
- information about existing crowns or bridges
- previous root canal treatment
- information about gum disease
For aesthetic treatment, clear photographs of your natural smile are also useful.
Tell us what you would like to change rather than simply naming a treatment.
For example, explain whether your concern is tooth colour, shape, crowding, gaps or old dental work.
This gives the dentist more useful information for the preliminary discussion.
Who may particularly consider Septum Dental?
Septum Dental may suit patients who prefer an established private practice rather than a recently created high-volume dental-tourism centre.
Maryo Keleşoğlu has practised in Şişli since 1993 and has worked actively with implant surgery and implant-supported prosthetics since 2000.
The current team also brings long-standing experience in prosthetic and aesthetic dentistry.
Mina Avad Wakfi adds international aesthetic-dentistry training and multilingual communication, while the wider practice works with specialist disciplines when required.
The clinic may therefore be particularly relevant when a patient’s treatment crosses several areas of dentistry rather than fitting into one simple package.
Arrange treatment with a dentist in Sisli Istanbul
If you are looking for a dentist in Sisli Istanbul, New Holidays can coordinate an assessment with Septum Dental.
Tell us what you need treated and how long you expect to stay in Istanbul.
If you already have a panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan, send it with your enquiry. For cosmetic cases, photographs of your teeth and smile can also help.
New Holidays can forward your information to the Septum Dental team and request current treatment details.
For larger cases, we can also ask which dentist is expected to handle each stage, whether specialist input is required and how many appointments the clinic expects you to need during your Istanbul stay.
