Biopsies
A biopsy is the process of taking a small piece of a suspicious tissue or mass to learn its structure. Pathologist examine this piece after undergoing special procedures and we get some vital information for treatment. While this information before was only to whether the mass is cancer or not, today many important information such as the type of cancer, the rate of proliferation of cells, the involvement of vessels and nerves, the ratio of hormone receptors and genetic structure can be understood by examining a tiny piece of tissue.

Varicose Veins Center Antalya
In our center, we can treat all kinds of varicose veins without surgery. Our team applied endovenous laser and foam treatments for the first time in our country. Center made many innovations in this regard. We can treat all kinds of varicose veins with different methods. Endovenous laser, foam sclerotherapy, miniphlebectomy and microsclerotherapy, which our doctors have been using since 2003. Pre treatment examination, color Doppler ultrasound and post-treatment follow-up with other tests are available entirely in our center.
Thyroid Nodule and Goiter Treatments Radiology Center Antalya
In our center, we evaluate such patients primarily by clinical examination and ultrasound. If a biopsy is necessary, we perform a painless biopsy with fine needle biopsy. The pathology result is available by our contracted laboratory the next day. After that, we can treat your nodules non-surgically with laser, RF, or alcohol ablation if treatment is necessary. If your nodules are large or numerous, we can significantly reduce them with a type of angio treatment called embolization.
Myoma Treatment
Our center is a reference center in our country in terms of embolization and ablation treatments applied in uterine myomas. We make the mentioned treatments by our team continuously since 2004.
Varicocele Treatment
Varicocele is a type of varicose that occurs around the testicle. It occurs in approximately 10% of young men and is mostly between the ages of 15 and 30. The cause of varicocele is valve insufficiency in testicular veins. The veins of the testis are found in the form of a network around the testis. This network then empties into the renal vein on the left and the main vein in the abdomen on the right as a single vein. In some patients, valve failure develops in the testicular vein over time. Blood begins to flow backwards and in the opposite direction just like in patients with varicose veins in the legs. This blood accumulates in the veins around the testicle, causing this thin vein network to expand over time. This expanding vein network has a name varicocele.
Cancer Treatments Antalya
ABLATION treatments is killing the tumor by heating or freezing the tumor in many types of cancer in our center. In addition, we also perform transarterial treatments based on administering chemotherapy. Radiation or occlusive particles directly from the vessels feeding the tumor by entering the artery with the angio method. These treatments, are most commonly for kidney, pancreas, liver, lung, breast and thyroid tumors .
Prof. Dr. Saim YIlmaz / Radiology Center Antalya
Prof Dr Saim Yılmaz was born in 1962 in Antalya. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Antalya, he won the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1979 as the third in OSYM in Antalya. After graduating from the medical faculty in 1985, he first did compulsory service. Then he started his pediatrics specialization at Istanbul Zeynep Kamil Hospital. In 1988, he won the TUS exam again and started his Radiology residency at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine. He became a specialist in 1992, an assistant professor in 1994, an associate professor in 1998, and a professor in 2004, respectively.
Since 1992, when he became a radiologist, Prof Yılmaz has worked in the field of interventional radiology. It is the therapeutic sub-branch of radiology. During this period, he attended many interventional radiology centers in the USA and Europe. He participated in more than 100 congresses and symposiums at home and abroad. Doctor wrote more than 70 scientific articles, and more than 600 references were made to these articles. He presented more than 100 congress papers. Doctor made more than 50 invited speeches at congresses, and won a total of 7 scientific awards.
Interventional Radiology Specialist Antalya
A study by Prof Yılmaz, published in 1998, became the third most cited article in radiology in Turkey and the fifth in Europe. Due to this article, he gave invited courses in European Radiology Congresses for 2 years. Concentrating his studies on peripheral arterial disease in the following years, Prof Yılmaz started to apply the “subintimal angioplasty” and “transpopliteal angioplasty”. Techniques, which were used in the removal of long leg vascular occlusions, in our country. He was invited to lecture at the European Congress of Interventional Radiology, due to his two studies published in 2001 and 2003 on this subject.
In 2003, he applied intravascular laser treatment in Turkey. Treatment is for venous insufficiency and varicose disease, which was new in the world. He also developed the ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy and miniphlebectomy. Techniques used in the same disease and introduced them to the radiology community. In addition, he applied the “femoral block” and “sciatic block” methods. Method ensure that the patient does not feel pain during the laser procedure, in our country. Method is introduced in radiology congresses. Prof Yılmaz wrote many articles on non-surgical treatment methods for varicose veins and gave congress speeches. One of these articles was awarded the best scientific study of the year. By the journal in which it was published. Another the second best congress paper, and another the “cum laude” honor award at the European Interventional Radiology Congress.
Embolization Treatment Antalya
Since 2005, Prof Yılmaz has intensively applied the “embolization” method. It provides non-surgical treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis disease with angiography. He presented his experiences on this subject in radiology and obstetrics congresses. He applied the “Superior hypogastric ganglion blockade” method. Method significantly relieves the pain after the embolization method, in our country and introduced it to the radiology community.
Prof Yılmaz started to work at Memorial&Medstar hospitals with the Mediterranean Oncology team since 2011. During this period, he applied new treatments that destroyed tumors by methods such as heating or cooling, or through angiography. He started cryoablation and nanoknife treatments in Turkey. His work on the nanoknife treatment in pancreatic cancer received consecutive first prizes in radiology and interventional radiology. In congresses in 2013 and 2014.
Prof Yılmaz left the Memorial and Medstar Hospitals group in 2018. He has been making his attempts at the Varisson Radiology Center, which he owns since then. He also continues to work in his office in Istanbul Caddebostan and in the hospitals he has contracted with.
Prof Yılmaz, who speaks English, French and German, is married and has two children.
