What is the ROPA method and how does it work ?
The ROPA method (Reception of Oocytes from the Partner) is one of the treatments available to same sex female couples. Couples who wish to become mothers. It is an In Vitro Fertilisation treatment in which both women take part first hand in the journey towards motherhood.
One partner will undergo the ovarian stimulation. And egg retrieval process to obtain the eggs. The other partner will carry out the pregnancy and give birth to their child. We will use donor sperm to fertilise the eggs in all cases.
What are the requirements for the ROPA method ?
It’s important to keep in mind that women who wish to undergo the ROPA method must be in marriage before beginning treatment. This way, the woman who provides the eggs as well as the woman who carries out the pregnancy and delivery will both legally be the child’s mothers.
